Later these staffs were adorned with silk and other types of material, making them resemble the flags we see today.
  • Barriers In Learning Foreign Languages  By : Ernest R Peterson
What is your take on learning foreign languages? Do you believe that every human being should be studying a foreign language other than their native tongue? Some folks do. In fact, when it comes to learning foreign languages, I have some experience of my own. I took Spanish 1 and 2 in high school. Then in college I took three additional Spanish courses. That's not too bad if I do say so myself. However, I was baffled at one Spanish professor's take on learning foreign languages. She was originally from Argentina, and came to the states to teach Spanish. I think this is wonderful. However, I did not agree with her spiel about how everyone in the United States needs to learn Spanish. This is plain and simply a glib statement. She is certainly not considering all sides to this coin. What about everyone else who came from other countries to the United States. They've already had to learn English to adapt. Is it fair to tell them that they must learn Spanish as well? You try telling that to someone who already speaks fluent German, Japanese, or French. They will likely tell you "I will learn Spanish when everyone else learns my native language."
  • Collection Of Garden Design Software  By : John Wellington
Since the different garden design software I looked at had so many features, it was hard for

me to make a buying decision right on the spot. I knew I wasn't interested in coming up with landscaping ideas for my entire yard; I just wanted to learn how best to utilize the patch of ground set aside for my vegetables and flowers. However, I had been flirting with the idea of creating a water garden at some point in the near future, so I wanted that capability in

whichever garden design software I purchased just in case I needed it later. Other than that, I would need only basic features, such as close-up 3D views of plants and an intuitive user interface. I didn't want to have to spend hours learning how to use my garden design software. I just wanted to be able to get in there and start designing.

  • Consolidation Of Student Loans  By : Ernest R Peterson
My mother always told me not to go crazy in college. At first I thought she was talking about a mental condition. However, I quickly found out that she was talking about finances. She meant not to go crazy with the cash and credit cards. Who am I kidding? I never had any cash. It was basically the credit cards. It was prudent to keep the spending on common fun and recreational activities very low. This way I wouldn't end up with horrific credit card debt. I was already going to end up resorting to the consolidation of student loans process. This is pretty much inevitable. Not to get anyone down or anything. It just goes with the territory.

  • Searching For Hotel Job Opportunities  By : Ernest R Peterson
Don't get me wrong! Not all hotel job opportunities are bad. I am just ragging on mine. I have no problem saying that it was at the Marriott. Now, let me say this; the Marriott has wonderful benefits for their employees. Or at least they did when I was there in 2001. Furthermore, the salary I acquired as a bartender was excellent, and the fellow employees were totally cool people. However, it was the hours that were utterly dreadful. I was always scheduled to work four days a week. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Doesn't sound like much, huh? Considering the fact that most people work five days a week. BUT, and notice how that's a very big BUT; my shifts were insane.
