You Need to Become Known as an Expert First

You know everything there is about a subject and create a great ebook but unless you have thousands of people that know your are an expert in this subject then your sales will be almost non- existent until you get a following. My wife created an ebook about Identity theft but even though we were victims not many people knew of our plight. I did a search on the net and found a lot of forums so I had my wife start browsing them and answer questions for people regarding this subject. Now when the book has been finally edited the second revision she has a lot of people who will buy the book because she is seen as an expert on this subject.

My son, Jake, has been using the site MySpace for several years and for the past year he has been making money from the site. I finally convinced him to write a book about everything he knows about this subject. Sales by himself are almost nonexistent so I used one of my tools and found him a lot of forums with people asking questions about the site MySpace. I had his create a profile on each site and I told him that in his signature file to put links to his sites. This way when somebody likes the answer he gives for a question they will want to find out who he is and they will start following the sites that are listed in his signature.

At first he just wanted to advertise his book in the posting that he was doing in the forums. A lot of forums will permanently ban you if they see you doing this. With the signature it allows you to advertise in a nonchalant way. Without blatantly advertising something. I thought about creating ads on my profile in MySpace but MySpace looks down upon this and sometimes they will just delete your account without warning. This happened to my son once. So instead I will just be posting links in my profile to my sites and on my sites I am free to have advertisements.

I am all over the net posting to different forums and on peoples blogs but I do my best to make sure that these postings and comments are not blatant ads. The signature is a great way to let people do research to find out who you are. I have been using signatures in all my outgoing emails for years now and I have found it to be a great way to get one way links back to your sites. There are software programs out there that will post to all these blog sites but unless your comment follows what that blogs subject is they will be deleted. The same goes for these so called forum blasters that a lot of marketers are selling. The best way is to do the posting one site at a time manually. Those links will survive the test of time.
