The main technology from a laser TV is the same technology found in projection-television systems. The light comes not from a UHP lamp. The light comes from lasers from Novalux. Pure Red, Green, blue colors which radiat to the Texas Instrument DLP Chip. This is the main difference between traditional projection and Laser TV. All other projection systems use a white-light lamp which cannot produce so clear colors. The sources enable simpler, smaller, less costly light engines. With DLP™ systems, the technology eliminates the need for a color wheel, light tunnel and relay optics. For 3 LCD projectors, they eliminate the polarizers, color filters, turning mirrors and fly eye lenses. The Optoelectronics manufacturerer Arasor and the laser specialist Novalux show a Laser-TV prototype. The 52-inch WD-52627 from Mitsubishi using Arasors optical chips and lasers to make the display. Arasor and Novalux began work on the laser TV project nearly two years ago and found interest among TV makers who were seeking alternative technologies to plasma and LCD for flat panel displays.
