Using Squidoo to drive Traffic.

I know your asking what is Squidoo. In this article you are going to learn what squidoo is and how to use it to drive traffic to your site.

In October of 2005 Author, Speaker and Blogger Seth Godin founded Squidoo. Squidoo is a network of user generated pages which they call lenses. Currently one of the top 500 sites that are closely tracked by Alexa.

Lenses contain your ideas, expertise, views and recommendations on just about any topic.

How to Use Squidoo to drive Traffic.

Here are the steps:

Signup for Squidoo. Design your lense. Build your site link.

Go here to signup for your squidoo account http://www.squidoo.com then choose the signup link at the top.

Once you have signed up you will need to design your page. Using the squidoo modules you will be able to simply create the page. The Basic modules are Ebay, Del.ico.us bookmarks, Flickr photos, Guest Book, Google Blog Search, Link List, RSS, Text/Write, Orbitz, Text list, and You Tube Videos.

Some of the other modules are contained in other categories like New!, Plexo, Search A-Z and Money.

You can also make money using Squidoo. The money is generated from the modules you select along with adsense ads that are on the pages. You have the option of sharing your cut of the money with charity or keeping it all for yourself.

I haven't tested it but I read that if you share your money with charity you will get a better ranking. We are not really building the page for money but rather to drive traffic so we will continue on.

You will need to have a link to your site. You can do this by using the introduction or using the text module. Including a free report here is also a good idea.

When your all done your lense will look similar to the one I setup. While you're taking a look why not rank my squidoo page. You do this by clicking on the stars that say your rank. 5 stars is the best. To get your site ranked higher the ranking system is how you will get your site listed higher in the listings. Which will give you more traffic.

You can raise this ranking by sending people to come and rank your lense just as I have asked you to rank mine. Also you can join groups within the squidoo system to help promote your lense.

With a Alexa Ranking of 487 having a page on squidoo will most certainly get listed in the search engines.
