Spot Cleaning Hard Surfaces and the Cleaning Equipment Needed

Recommended Cleaning Supplies and Cleaning Equipment:

EPA Registered Cleaner/Disinfectant
All Purpose Detergent Cleaner
Wiping Material – Rags, Paper Towels, Sponge, etc.
Sprayer – Trigger (labeled) Pump-Up, Aerosol, Foam, etc.

Recommended Method:

As in all cleaning procedures, the first step is to gather the recommended cleaning equipment together and bring them to the area to be cleaned.

Cleaning spots on hard surfaces is important to remove soil and unseen bacteria from the vertical or horizontal surfaces as well as providing an esthetically pleasing environment. Always be on the lookout for soils and smudges as you progress through your other cleaning tasks. When you notice a spot, spray it with the all purpose detergent cleaner and wipe dry with a rag, paper towel or sponge. By using an EPA-registered cleaner/disinfectant, the unseen bacteria can also be removed or inactivated. If the spot has not been removed, repeat the procedure as often as necessary.

Do not play down the importance of this procedure. It’s the small things that people notice and in time small spots can grow into large spots that are much more time-consuming and difficult to remove. Always be looking for small spots to clean.

Be sure to inspect your work and correct any steps you might have missed.

When you are finished, wash hands and dry thoroughly.

Finally, as in all cleaning procedures, allow time to clean up and return the cleaning equipment to the storage area.
