When Nancy became a member Of National Honor Society the girl sat in the back of the classroom and quietly watched the things go on. When it was time to leave the classroom she wasn’t able to do it so that nobody paid attention to her. Nancy knocked into Elizabeth, the president of the class and NHS, it was on accident, but all of their things were strewed over the room. Though it was not only Nancy’s fault, she apologized abundantly. She bent down and started picking her things up. Liz scowled then bent down as well, helping Nancy. While doing this, Liz came upon some of Nancy’s personal papers and could not resist looking them through. Some of the items Nancy had dropped were sketches. She had drawn them just for fun. Her sketches very quite artistic. There was also a letter among Nancy’s things. The addressee of the letter was “Whoever cares” and it told about her feelings. That she had a feeling she didn’t belong neither to her family nor to school. She was so lonely, as if nobody cared for her. Liz didn’t say a word that day and she didn’t know if Nancy knew that she had read her letter, but she decided to learn everything about Nancy. During the National Honor Society events she tried to engage Nancy into different conversations. The process was very slow, but after all Nancy opened up to Elizabeth and from that moment they became inseparable. They studied at the same college; Nancy got there a degree in history and a minor in government. Liz, on the contrary, got a degree in government and international affairs. When it was the final stage of their education in college, they became graduates, Nancy got to know that her mother had died and her father was very sick and could not care for himself and two younger kids. The three older Nancy’s sibling were married, that is why Nancy had to go back home to help her father and sisters. All these events meant a separation for the girls.
