REVIVAL FIRES BURNING IN BRAZIL

REVIVAL FIRES
BURNING IN BRAZIL

Tears were streaming down my face, as I stood watching four more people from our church in Tabuleiro being baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus. It was the third day of our regional convention. Three wonderful days of revival!! We had already seen more than 40 receive the Holy Ghost; several people repent of their sins, and when it was all over 25 people were baptized in Jesus name. Friday night, started out with blessings, our ladies prayer group sang, there were nearly sixty ladies who get together every Monday night to pray sang as God moved. The young people also presented gestures as the power of God fell in the service. We had several visitors from the States, Pastor Lucky Meadows, Pastor Charles Drew, Sis Deborah Burris, Bro Brown, Sis Virginia Shemwell, and Bro Steven Burris. A large group came from Araças, Ceara. It was such a blessing to see those families which the Lord has caused so much spiritual growth to occur in their lives. Gilene’s mother, brother, and niece came to be with us from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. They are a very catholic family, but the Lord touched them during the convention. Gilene’s brother who was very involved in the party-life in Natal has moved in with them here in Maceio and is in service every week.

Saturday morning, started out with a prayer meeting. Then the afternoon service, where there were presentations from Arapiraca, Sao Miguel and other areas in the interior of Alagoas. The children also had their special meeting with around 50-60 children all laughing and in awe of the puppet show as the puppets told them about the Lord. There was preaching in the main service and many received the Holy Ghost.

Saturday night started with much excitement. The church was packed out long before service even started. Chairs were added, but many remained standing throughout the entire service. There were presentations by the children, adolescents, young people, and ladies group. There were gestures presented, songs song, a Jewish dance, and a play about the cross that put all in tears. That night, we baptized 11 people in Jesus name, many repented, others were renewed and many filled for the very first time with the Holy Ghost. Three people from Tabuleiro were among the ones baptized that night, what revival!

Sunday morning started with service in the morning for most and minister’s meeting for all of our workers. We were moved to tears in the minister’s meeting as we feasted on the Word of God and counsel to help grow in unity for the work of the Lord. Which brings me to Sunday afternoon service, as I stood in awe as one after another was baptized in that wonderful name for the remission of their sins. The once village drunk, turned into our main bus driver, went down in the water for the washing away of his sins. Two young people from his family also went down in the name of Jesus. Another young person also went down in Jesus name from the church in Tabuleiro. This is not to count the many who were baptized from our other villages and cities. God has done a tremendous work in this past year.

We have had five new areas where we have opened up preaching points in the past couple of months. Four of the areas are villages in the city of Maceio and one is in the interior city of Maribondo. God is blessing and new people are repenting during these meetings, mostly taking in places in different people’s homes.

My husband and I have been doing house meetings and street services in a village called Bebedouro, where we are praying for God to open the doors for us to rent a building to have church services there. The first week, we had service in one of the saint's house in this village with 20 adults and 15 children. The next week in another new converts home, there were around 25 adults and 15-20 children and adolescents there. Talk about a house full! God blessed us with his presence at the end of the meeting as we prayed with the visitors. The week before convention we had a street meeting here with several from our headquarters’ church attending. The streets were full of people listening to the Word of God from the doors of their houses; six people went up for prayer and a touch of God. This past Sunday night, a thirteen year old girl, who just gave birth to a little boy came and repented of her sins

We are praying for God to open the doors for us to rent a little building to have church in at this village where many have repented. Last Friday night, there were 17 waiting for us to take to our church in Tabuleiro. We only have a 5-passenger car!

The preaching point in Jaqueira is also having services every Wednesday night and God is blessing. Bro and Sis Alvear are praying for God to bless with funds to build a church in that area, since we already have several baptized members in that village.

Bro Chad Thomas and his wife, Sister Rebecca are working in Maribondo with our church there and have recently opened up a work in a farm area, some distance away from the city.

Some ministers from our church in Ouro Preto have been having home meetings in some visitor’s houses for the past month. Other ministers from Bom Parto have also begun having meetings in different saint’s homes each night.

As you can see, God has done so much in the past few months. It was like John said at the end of his gospel, if it would all be written, books wouldn’t contain it. If I would write it all; the envelope wouldn’t contain the letter.

Thank you to all who have continued supporting us on a monthly basis and for those of you who have felt to send us a special offering this past month. As we get ready for our first little one to arrive and accustom to married life, we trust the Lord to supply our many financial needs. God has used you to bless us so much! I won’t begin to name names, but God knows who you are and so do we. We appreciate you so much!

Only because of Him,

Bro Magno and Sis Amy Santos
