Procedure for Spray Buffing Floors with Low Speed Buffer

Recommended Supplies and Cleaning Equipment:

All-Purpose Detergent/Cleaner
Spray Buff Solution
Floor Machine (175-400 RPM)
Red Floor Pad
Wet Floor Signs
Mop Bucket and Wringer
Mop Handle
Wet Mop Heads (Medium to Large)
Treated Dust Mop
Dust mop Handle and Frame (36” to 72”)
Dust Pan and Counter Brush
Scraper/Putty Knife
Mats
Rubber Gloves

Recommended Method:

As in all cleaning procedures, the first step is to gather the recommended cleaning equipment together and bring to the area to be cleaned.

Dust mop floor area using a clean treated dust mop. Prepare to damp mop – set up “caution” signs in public areas. Place mats at entrances. Damp mop floor area.

Mist spray buff solution over a 4’ by 5’ area. Buff the area in a crosswise motion (forward and backward, and sideways), until gloss is restored.

Repeat every 20 square feet. Turn the spray buff pad over after 200 square feet or sooner, if soil build-up is heavy.

Repeat spray buff operation, changing pads as required, until entire area is spray buffed.

Dust mop floor area again using a clean treated dust mop.

Be sure to inspect your work and correct any steps you might have missed.

As in all cleaning procedures, allow time to clean up and return the cleaning equipment to the storage area. Don’t forget to clean spray buff pads immediately. Finally, when you are finished, wash hands and dry thoroughly.
