Our Master Planner

Do you know someone who is spontaneous and extemporaneous? Are you acquainted with someone who would not think of doing anything without much planning or preparation? There are certainly both personality types - the planners and the spontaneous, the schemers and the impulsive.
It only takes a glimpse at the Scriptures, however, to see that God is a meticulous planner and organizer. The creative days were extremely structured. God's blueprints for Noah's ark, the Tabernacle in the wilderness with all of its furnishings and Solomon's Temple left no room for questioning or alterations. God plans and prepares His will in every aspect of His creation.

Understanding God in that vein, does it not make sense to believe that He has a plan for every one of us, His highest creation? All of our life's happenings coincide with that plan, and every event in some way prepares us for that call. There are no coincidences. Our lives are not structured by God to fulfill His will in our lives.

Even before birth, He chose our parents and home environment. God told Jeremiah, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5). And that message was not just for Jeremiah, but for every one of us. Our childhood was shaped to give us the foundation for the work God has chosen for us. Maybe your family was musical, your mother was an organizer, or your grandmother was a prayer warrior. Nothing was placed in your life by accident but was to fulfill God's purpose.

As a youth God puts people in our paths and gives us special experiences to inspire us and lead us toward the life He envisions for us. Never discount those milestones as only hype and emotion. God is gently nudging us toward His ultimate plan for our lives. Samuel was only a youngster when God called him. Because he recognized God's guiding hand at a young age, he became one of Israel's greatest spiritual leaders.
