Make Money with New Release Dvds

The wholesale price of new release dvds is the driving force that propels many sellers to purchase every single dvd wholesale list they can find. Many have already found the largest dvd wholesalers, but are convinced there must be some other secret dvd supplier out there that will provide new release dvds at unbelievable prices.

Even I will admit that the price of a wholesale new release DVD was quite appalling. At first, I really figured that you could find these DVDs at a lower prices because there were so many Ebay sellers that sold new releases dvds for dirt cheap prices.

NEW RELEASE DVDS ARE AT A PREMIUM

My research has proven to me that new release dvds are high demand no profit titles. If you will research the auction of ebay's top dvd sellers, you will not find any selling new releases. The reason is simple. There is so much competition for new release dvds, there just isn't any money to be made selling them.

Here are two reasons why a new release DVD has little or no return on investment:

1. Unless you have a million dollars to invest and can buy a truckload of DVDs you will have to go through one of the three main new release DVD suppliers in the United States. Big retail chains like Wal-Mart and Target purchase their new releases straight from the studio and they get huge discounts for bulk orders, therefore they cut out the middleman.

Typically, these huge box store will advertise new release dvds at cost. They simply use them as a loss leader to get buyers in their store. They know if you come in to buy a new release, chances are you will buy other items they will make a profit from. This is why you will find Wal-Mart will sometimes have new releases cheaper than we can buy them from one of the dvd wholesalers.

2. The second reason is new release dvds are not just in demand with the public, they are in demand with the bootleggers as well. A bootlegger can make a new release dvd with the cover art for as little as $1.50 each. These illegal counterfeits usually go on sale before they are even officially released to the public.

Bootlegging is illegal, and there is no way that you can compete with a new release DVD that is made for $1.50.

HOW EXACTLY DO SOME EBAY SELLER SELL A NEW RELEASE SO CHEAP?

1. I have said this before and I will say it again, I avoid new releases like the Bubonic Plague. They are just not profitable. There are some sellers that are so determined to sell new releases that they will buy them at Wal-Mart, and then resell them on Ebay.

2. Some sellers are selling so many DVD's per month that they will take a loss and sell new releases at cost as a bait to get customers to look at their other items. (Just like the big retail chains mentioned earlier.)

3. In my opinion there are a lot of new release DVDs available on Ebay that are counterfeit. A dead giveaway in determining whether or not a DVD is counterfeit is if the description includes any of the following words or phrases: DVD-5, import, doesn't include the case, shipped in plastic sleeves, shipped from China, Philippines, Malaysia, or some other third world country.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON NEW RELEASE DVDS

My dvd wholesale directory will offer new release DVDs. These are the same suppliers that furnish new releases to DVD rental stores. I have them for those who are dead set on selling new release dvds. Take a little advice though and do a little research and sell the older DVDs that are still big sellers with a lot of profit available on them. Don't waste your time with new releases unless you are already an established seller using them as loss leaders.
