Generic Lamisil Approved

Good news for all who suffer from athletes feet and foot fungus, generic Lamisil has been approved by the FDA to treat your condition. This means you will be able to fight off that foot fungus without having to sell the leg its attached to in order to pay for it.

The patent which was owned by Novartis Pharmaceuticals ran out at the end of June, an fourteen different manufacturers were granted license by the FDA to produce its generic equivalent. Manufacturers include: Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Apotex Corp., Aurobindo Pharma USA Inc., Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., Gedeon Richter USA Inc., Genpharm Inc., Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc., Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., Orgenus Pharma Inc., Roxane Laboratories Inc., TEVA Pharmaceuticals USA, Watson Laboratories Inc., Wockhardt USA Inc.

According to the FDA, they “also approved an application for a generic version of over-the-counter Lamisil cream (terbinafine hydrochloride,1 percent) to treat athlete's foot, a skin disease caused by a fungus that usually occurs between the toes. The cream is manufactured by Taro Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. Inc.”

According the magazine Drug Topics, Lamisil tablets are the 57th highest selling brand-name prescription drug by retail dollars in the United States.
