Fear of Death

In spite the fact that we all know that clock of our lives is in everlasting manner ticking away, Tolstoy in his work “My Confession” says that nobody can run away from the “dragon of death”. It means that we all are hanging on the twig of life in a well where there is no water. He continues and says that our fear of death is the fear that our personality will be demolished. If we could only understand and feel that our identity is an eternal Being which can not die or be demolished, our fear of death would disappear. We would consider death and the physical-plane life as level in an everlasting travel to perfection and death as the entrance into remote less limiting experience on the road.

As we go through the journey of our lives, we have to understand that our own personal lives are important and should have the meaning. We should live the full life, live it amply and enjoy our own creations. We should experience success as well as failure, to use free will develop and intensify our lives. We should take a look deep inside our hearts, the place where exists a connection with our Soul, but most people take this for granted and forget about God and his power.

However, Leo Tolstoy a very successful writer left all his material wealth to his family and friends and made a decision to live his life with people who are poor and uneducated and what is very important who are simple rather than with people who are rich and educated. In his heart he knew that to find the real sense of life, he had to live according to the God’s law. He believed that he was an important part of God’s Creation, this Creation can not be full without even a small piece of our lives, it can not perform our potential without defining our place in the all-embracing vastness of God.
