You have decided that marriage is right for you, and now you need to start thinking about your attire for that special day! There are so many decisions to make just in choosing the dress; should it be traditional in style or more modern and trendy? Should it cover your body or will you want some of your better features exposed? Regardless of the huge amount of choices, the final choice needs to be perfect for you. As soon as the planning begins for the big day, choosing your wedding dress becomes somewhat of an urgency for most brides, who do not want to wait until the last minute. While dealing with wedding stress and preparations, be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to try on different styles and find the one who says "you". The theme of your wedding will be an important point when selecting that special dress. Are you getting married on the beach? If so, you might choose a light airy style. Have you decided on a formal affair? Then by all means, go all out and wear a white dress covered in silk and lace. Whatever type of occasion your wedding will be, your dress will play one of the most important roles in it! Another important factor is what time of year are you planning to get married. If you are getting married in the height of summer, you will not want a dress with multiple layers and full length sleeves. Your wedding should be full of happy memories from the ceremony. You do not want to be thinking about how hot you got on your wedding day but rather how hot you looked in your wedding dress. When choosing a wedding dress, try on comfortable styles. Walk around in them, if kneeling is part of your ceremony, then kneel in the dress and be sure you are not going to be uncomfortable in your choice. The beauty of the dress is only half of your decision-the other half is looking beautiful, happy and elegant. You cannot look happy if you are holding your breath so seams do not pop or you're itchy from the lace on your arms. A big mistake when selecting a wedding dress is getting the size right. If you have every intention of slimming before your wedding, make sure that you get the wedding dress for the size you are now and not what you think you will be on the wedding day. It is much easier to get your dress adjusted by taking it in rather than having to try to add material if the slimming did not have the effect you were after. Although a wedding can be an expensive affair, do not skimp when selecting your wedding dress. Have family members chip in with making flowers. Get family or friends to take the wedding photos and maybe even get a family member to make your wedding cake. The dress will be the most important part of your day as it will be seen throughout the whole day. If you cannot afford wedding boutique prices, check out wedding consignment shops for nearly new dresses at much cheaper prices. These will look just as good. Regardless of the wedding dress you finally end up choosing, remember that you are the person that your fianc wants to marry, not the dress. The dress is only used to ensure you look your best on the day. Once you have selected your wedding dress, keep it in the bag that it comes in and try not to take it out too often. This way you will be adding to the atmosphere as your guests see your dress for the first time as you walk down the aisle. Always make sure to not show your dress to your intended before the ceremony too as it is bad luck.
