This is a beautiful day and God had opened doors for His people. This church is not destined for defeat; we are not planning to live in the wilderness. We are going to possess the land of promise. I am to a tongue-talking land, a name of Jesus land, an apostolic miracle working church. The God of glory has already given us the land. He has promised us the land; the inheritance of the earth is His, and we claim it in Jesus’ name. We need to let Him know that we are claiming the “promise” land. We must get ready to possess the land. It is not a morbid congregation that is going up into that land. It is not a dead, dried-up, half-backslid congregation; it is not a Laodacian church that is going to possess that land. It is going to be a red-hot church. I give honor to our forefathers who brought us to this point. I give honor to my predecessor, Brother Nathaniel A. Urshan, for the years of service he has given to the United Pentecostal Church International. I give honor to the men and women of God who have brought us to this hour and who have already passed over to the other side. They left with the UPCI an incredible heritage that we must thank God for and not betray their confidence. Arise-Get Ready for Action The first word I want to bring in this message is what God said to Joshua: Arise. He was telling Joshua to get ready for action. A person is not ready for action when he is sitting still, when he is in a lukewarm state of complacency, or when he is content with the status quo, the norm, or the average. I propose that his church is not the norm, not the average, but that it is an apostolic empowered, actionized, anointed, and passionate body that is on the march. We cannot allow the experiences of the past to sour our passion. We dare not let the defeats, the hurts, or the offences of the past dim our vision. Whatever has happened in the past we need to get it under the blood. This is a new day.
