Hitler speaking about Germans says that only those Germans, who live in other countries and have to fight to understand the German language and traditions, really understand the meaning of having to struggle for nationalism or the importance of such a struggle. It is clear that one of the major reasons for Hitler’s nationalistic position is a result of never having been defined as German, he is in actual fact a half-breed German; he feels for those Germans who are in a similar situation. In brief, Hitler in contrast to Bismarck believed that ethnic Germans had the right to live in one Reich with pure-blooded Germans. All of this thoughts turned Hitler into a German Nationalist. It must be noted that there are differences between Bismarck’s views on nationalism and those which currently exist in the NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische deutsche Arbeiterpartei - the official name of Hitler’s party).

Hitler talks in short about the murder of Archduke Ferdinand and how this event was such a bliss to the ethnic South Germans. He blamed Ferdinand in the Slavization of Austria (Slavs – people of Czech and Russian descent), and that Vienna was quickly becoming a Czech majority. It is important not to forget that Hitler was born in the Austro-Hungarian empire, to be more precise in Austria proper, and many of the events guiding to the World War I took place while Hitler went to secondary school and later during his sojourn in Vienna. Many of these events directly formed Hitler’s views and he developed his own opinion on many of those events that was grounded on his ever-formulating ideology. Basically, he disdained all the events which in his opinion were contradicting his definition of nationalism. Those events which corresponded to his thinking he gladly accepted.
