Correct eating habits To start a weight loss regime will mean that you need to focus on eating the correct foods at the correct times. Many people fail to lose weight because they embark on fad diets that claim you can lose weight in a few weeks. The trouble with these diets is that they either focus on protein or carbohydrate only diets that your body cannot sustain. Your body needs all of the food groups to function healthily and by eating smaller portions every day, your stomach will automatically respond. You will feel fuller after only eating two slices of pizza as opposed to eating the whole pizza. Consistency To be consistent in your weight loss efforts is key. It is no good starving one week and then stuffing your face the next. Your body gets confused and will store extra energy when you don’t eat just in case, but then when you do eat you have far too many calories in your system. You must not go to either extreme, just eat normal food as regularly as 6 times a day (3 small meals and 2 snacks). This will ensure that your body does not crave excessively or that you binge. The snacks should not be in excess of 100 calories, and you will soon find that eating that often is actually challenging. You may not have realized that you were eating more than 6 times a day by snacking all the way from one meal to the next. Becoming aware of your body is very important, as you body will not lose weight by itself. Vitamins and Minerals In today’s hectic life, most people do not take the time to eat proper food with high sources of vitamins and mineral. While taking a supplement to make up for certain vitamins is recommended, one also needs to get certain vitamins and minerals from the foods we eat. These can go a long way to preventing illnesses, improving metabolism, and converting extra calories into energy a lot quicker. Calcium is one of these as well as the B vitamins and Zinc. Exercise While exercise cannot guarantee a flat stomach in days if you are overweight, it will start to cleans your system of impurities and improve your metabolism. You should start with cardio vascular activity which raises your heart rate and uses calories. The key is to use more calories than you consume so that the extra stored fat can be used and then once you have reached your weight loss goals to increase the calories slightly so that you consume just enough to be able to use it. Moderation Do not pig overeat any one type of food. You can have chocolate, because that too has its benefits, but do not eat an entire slab in one sitting. Have anything you want, but have less of it. You must keep eating the same proportions and sizes of meals everyday. Try not to skip meals, especially breakfast, and do not overcompensate for missing a meal if you do. Just get back to your routine by doing the correct thing.
